Community Event at Vaughan Grove Sports Park
Community members are welcome to the unveiling of a brand-new artificial turf field at Vaughan Grove Sports Park, located at 7401 Martin Grove Rd., on May 28 at 5 p.m. To celebrate the field, all are invited to have some fun and enjoy the ribbon-cutting ceremony, an interactive DJ, refreshments, and official remarks from Mayor Steven Del Duca and members of council.
Features of the New Turf Field
The Woodbridge park’s new artificial turf field meets FIFA standards and includes new fencing and goal backstops, enhanced field drainage and site grading, new walkway connections, a digital sign board, benches, and shelters, according to Vaughan’s website.
Upgrades to Sonoma Heights Park
The city has also made upgrades to Sonoma Heights Park at 100 Sunset Ridge. Its existing artificial turf field has been replaced with additional new goalposts and a solar scoreboard, and the park’s drainage system has been improved.
