Mayor Steven Del Duca issued the following statement after the 2024 Mayor’s Gala, which raises funds in support of the Spirit of Generosity:
A Thrilling Event
“I was thrilled to attend my second annual Mayor’s Gala in support of the Spirit of Generosity, which has contributed millions of dollars to worthy causes throughout our city. I am honoured to carry on this initiative as it continues its meaningful support of more than 200 non-profit and community organizations, including children and youth groups, healthcare initiatives, seniors’ organizations, and special needs programs.
Gratitude and Community Spirit
“I am grateful to everyone who attended this year’s event and to all those who have supported the Spirit of Generosity throughout the years. Vaughan is an ambitious city with a long and proud history, one that’s been influenced by champions and leaders who are committed to giving back to the community, like many of today’s attendees.
Progress and Future Plans
“Together, we’ve made remarkable progress over the past year, with shovels in the ground to fight gridlock, the approval and funding of the York University School of Medicine, and the officially announced future development of a performing and cultural arts centre in the heart of the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. We’ve made so much progress, and we have no intention of slowing down.
